Budget estimates for The Marvels hover around $274 million, with additional costs pushing the total closer to $800 million once marketing and other expenses are included. To break even, it would need to gross at least that amount globally. However, with projections suggesting the film will likely finish its run earning only between $200 million and $250 million worldwide, it’s poised to be a substantial financial loss for Disney.
This puts The Marvels in the same league as previous underperformers like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which struggled to reach similar figures in its opening days. Such poor performance raises questions about the future trajectory of the MCU.
