People who come to the U.S. as refugees often do so with the genuine intent of pursuing the American Dream. Their motivations stem from hope and the desire for a better life. However, the system's failures—lack of adequate support, integration, and cultural care—can lead to their marginalization and potential radicalization.
When refugees and asylum seekers are left isolated, cut off from their communities and resources, they become vulnerable to internal radicalization. Their alienation can be exploited by terrorist organizations like ISIS, which target them from within America’s borders. This internal threat is compounded by the fact that some are actively radicalized after arriving, not necessarily before crossing the border.
