A common concern with mass adoption of satellite internet is whether the system can handle increased user loads without degrading quality. According to SpaceX, the current constellation of approximately 8,800 satellites is sufficient to serve over 8 million users globally without capacity issues.
The company has also been authorized to launch up to 12,000 satellites, with plans to possibly expand to 40,000 or more in the future. The upcoming version 3 satellites feature 10 to 15 times the capacity of current models, which will further bolster network robustness and scalability.
