However, deeper analysis of the UK financial reports revealed significantly higher actual costs. When adjusting for currency exchange rates and other factors, the true combined production cost for the five films was estimated at about $2.29 billion.
Adding to this, the often-ignored but substantial marketing expenses—which are generally at least $150 million per film—bring the total estimated cost north of $3 billion. In other words, Disney likely spent over three times the raw box office revenue these films generated, pointing to a hefty investment that didn't necessarily translate into immediate profit.
