In 2013, I found myself yearning for a monumental experience—something that would truly test my limits and validate the principles I’d been teaching as a leader. During that time, I stumbled upon the idea of participating in a transatlantic rowing race—a grueling 3,000-mile expedition across the Atlantic Ocean. Initially, I dismissed it as impossible; after all, I was just a rower, and such an undertaking seemed far beyond my reach.
