Leadership from the coaching staff also came under scrutiny. While the Jets appeared well-coached in certain respects—demonstrating discipline and fight—the continued reliance on a struggling quarterback without visible accountability was troubling. The absence of strategic adjustments or benching of underperforming players like Fields suggested a disconnect between roster personnel and game management.
This hesitance to make decisive changes—such as giving Tyler Tuafo or Tyrod Taylor more playing time—was seen as a disservice to the team. The inability or unwillingness to adapt in the face of persistent errors hindered the Jets' potential to capitalize on their defensive resilience and to keep pace with opponents.
