Media outlets, including the New York Post and mainstream talk shows, tend to frame these behaviors in a humorous or light-hearted manner, often trivializing the seriousness of the acts. Critics argue that this normalization masks underlying issues: women feeling entitled, men feeling emasculated, and both sides disengaged from authentic interaction.
These narratives also often dismiss or minimize the moral implications, focusing instead on how society could "fix" the problem—primarily by encouraging men to approach women more confidently and women to be more straightforward. However, critics suggest that such advice ignores the deeper cultural changes that have distorted traditional courtship norms.
