Part 9/13:
Building Privacy and Security Tools for the Future
Discussing practical development efforts, the participants highlight ongoing projects such as Mutiny Wallet and upcoming tools like Harbor, which aim to empower users with privacy-focused features. For example, Harbor is envisioned as an ecash-based desktop wallet supporting Fedi (Federated Mints), providing a way to hold private, non-custodial ecash tokens.
These projects are designed with privacy by default. A key design principle emphasizes decentralization and redundancy—users can run their own mints with multiple guardians (multi-sig setups), ensuring robustness against censorship or rug pulls. This approach aligns with core Bitcoin ideals: individual control, privacy, and censorship resistance.
