In today's world, admitting “I don’t know” is often viewed as a weakness. Our culture encourages us to speak loudly and assert confidently, eroding the virtue of reflection. The ancient metaphor of the soul as a charioteer, guided by reason and pulled by desires—both noble and unruly—illustrates our societal state. We find ourselves pulled by speed, pleasure, and immediacy, while reason sleeps, losing control of our inner selves.
