In the 20th century, Disney and other storytellers romanticized and softened these ancient stories, removing many of their harsher elements and moral depths. The tales of Snow White, Cinderella, and others were altered to embody the "happily ever after" ideal, sometimes stripping away the lessons about pride, humility, and human flaws. This oversimplification has led to a skewed perception of what true virtue and character entail.
