Part 8/11:
Adding complexity, a popular YouTube creator (referred to as Mark) attempted to propagate an emotionally charged, misleading narrative about Tesla and Luminar. The creator published a video just prior to Luminar's quarterly earnings report—a move seen by critics as suspiciously timed to influence stock prices. After the video, Luminar's stock surged temporarily, only to plummet over 90% since then, signaling possible manipulation.
Further investigation reveals that the video was possibly intended to artificially inflate Luminar’s share price, which peaked at about $8.35 following the video. However, Luminar's stock has been in steep decline over the past year, going from over $560 five years ago to under $87 today, amidst ongoing concerns over the company's viability.
