Part 2/13:

The journey begins with the spectacular NGC 1850 in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. This cluster features a central globular cluster surrounded by a younger, smaller cluster located nearby. The main cluster is approximately 50 million years old, while the smaller component is just four million years old and populated by extremely hot blue OB stars.

Blue OB stars are among the brightest and most massive stars, shining intensely with ultraviolet radiation. In contrast, the smaller cluster contains T Tauri stars, which are still in the process of forming. These stars emit energy primarily through gravitational contraction rather than nuclear fusion—a process indicative of their youth.
