While the Sun is enormous compared to other objects, many underestimate just how dominant it is. Over 99% of the total mass in our solar system is concentrated in the Sun itself. The remaining mass is distributed among planets, moons, asteroids, and comets, with Jupiter and the other gas giants accounting for most of the leftover mass. This immense mass influences everything in the solar system through gravity, keeping planets in orbit and powering the system’s dynamics.
