Part 7/9:
Beyond Neptune extends the Kuiper Belt—a vast region filled with icy bodies and small planets. Starting at about 3,000 feet from the Sun and stretching to 5,000 feet in the model, this region contains numerous dwarf planets and icy objects. A prominent object here is Pluto, about 4,300 feet away, which was once classified as the ninth planet but is now recognized as a dwarf planet.
Within the Kuiper Belt, Pluto’s size is tiny compared to the Sun, more like a small speck of dirt in the grand cosmic landscape. Other objects, such as Humea and Makemake, are similarly small and reside in this distant, icy realm, emphasizing the spread and diversity of bodies in our solar system's outskirts.
