Modern films, however, often feature characters who survive seemingly impossible situations with little to no repercussions—resurrections, plot armor, and reshoots that undo deaths. Jurassic World, Pacific Rim Uprising, and others exemplify this trend. It erodes the tension, and audiences become less emotionally invested because outcomes are less impactful.
The absence of logical consequences — characters that survive because the plot demands it, not because they earned it — diminishes the thrill and seriousness of the stories.
