Next, the tour ventures to Kurus, a picturesque village in the western part of Fife. With buildings dating back 500 years, Kurus is perfect for period dramas set in earlier centuries. Notably, the village served as a filming location for the long-running series Outlander, standing in for a 17th-century Scottish settlement with its cobbled streets and historic architecture.
Interestingly, the village was initially considered as a Norwegian fishing village for the Marvel film Captain America, where a Hydra tank was supposed to unleash chaos. Although the scene was ultimately cut, the village remains a popular filming site. For visitors, Kurus offers not only cinematic history but also charming local character, exemplified by its cozy pub, the Red Lion.
