Visually, "Red Sonia" does not fare much better. The CGI is described as "garbage," with many scenes featuring ugly, poorly integrated monsters and landscapes. The magical realm is especially grotesque, with a "magical book" that contains advanced technology—think portable fusion reactors and nanotechnology—that the characters seem to ignore entirely. Of particular note is a scene where a giant cyclops, controlled by Sonia, begins smashing everything in sight—only to have the scene cut away abruptly and then mysteriously reset to an undamaged state, showing cinematic incompetence.
