Part 11/12:
Fans of the 1985 "Red Sonia" note that earlier adaptations had more straightforward storytelling, and at least there, the villain was shamelessly evil, leading to satisfying comeuppance. The older film starred Bridget Nielsen as an imposing heroine and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a similar barbarian hero, blending camp with entertainment value. In contrast, the recent adaptation is characterized by cluelessness, cheap effects, and a confused attempt at modern cinematic tropes.
