Part 2/8:
Set against the tumultuous backdrop of the late 1960s Vietnam War, Primitive War follows an elite special forces unit—Vulture Squad—on a clandestine mission behind enemy lines. Their task? To rescue a missing green beret unit from a remote valley and uncover any strange phenomena that might be lurking. Sounds straightforward enough, but the film takes an unexpected turn early on: instead of encountering enemy soldiers or rugged terrain, the team stumbles into a prehistoric nightmare—dinosaurs.
The film’s premise is intentionally absurd, blending elements reminiscent of Platoon, Jurassic Park, and Stranger Things. It’s a mashup that shouldn’t work, but somehow does, thanks to its earnestness and sheer willingness to indulge in its own ridiculousness.
