Perhaps most disappointingly, the series has diminished the horror of the Xenomorphs. Instead of terrifying predators capable of spray acid and killing seasoned soldiers, they are portrayed as easily dispatched obstacles—decapitated with household tools, run-of-the-mill monsters with little mystique. The show strips away the essence of what made Aliens harrowing—the suspense, the resilience of soldiers, and the monstrous unpredictability.
