This infantilization extends to the series' attempts at adding depth. Their "hybrid" nature—terminally ill children whose consciousness is transferred into adult synthetic bodies—was presumably meant to be a groundbreaking twist. Instead, it reinforces the idea that the show is trying too hard to mask its shallow characterizations by equating strength with childishness.
