The ending suffers from indecision. Mahershala Ali’s character seemingly sacrifices himself but survives without clear reason; then, Scarlett Johansson's character takes on a potential sacrificial role, yet the film opts for a less meaningful resolution. A giant dinosaur, the Orcasaurus, appears only briefly at the climax, a missed opportunity to generate awe. The film's conclusion feels hollow, with characters surviving or dying without credible motivation or emotional payoff.
