Part 9/13:
The Race for AGI
The global race for AGI is intense, and the U.S. aims to lead. This effort includes developing new materials, energy solutions (like fusion energy and advanced nuclear), and improving the power grid. It acknowledges that large data centers—fundamental for AI training—require immense energy, prompting investment in nuclear, renewable, and other innovative energy sources.
Challenges in Data and Infrastructure
The high costs and environmental impacts of massive data centers are recognized issues. Massive energy consumption, pollution, and security concerns pose obstacles. Perhaps most critically, trustworthy data is essential; flawed or bad data can undermine AI systems regardless of computational power.
