The debate itself was an event marked by a cast of characters that seem straight out of a sitcom: the dull guy, the other dull guy, the fat guy, the girl, the Black guy (who's apparently nice enough), the irritating skinny guy, plus the "what’s his name" and "who even is that guy." The commentator humorously notes that one or two candidates experienced peaking moments, gaining brief bump-ups in the polls after expressing some opinions, but these bumps faded faster than a Snapchat message.
It’s a race where distinguishing features are few and far between, and voters are left with little to remember beyond a vague sense of sameness among the contenders.
