Adding to Twitch’s woes are significant corporate layoffs announced at Amazon, its parent company. Reports indicate that Amazon is planning to cut around 30,000 jobs across the globe, which amounts to about 9% of its worldwide workforce. These layoffs are not limited to Amazon’s general operations but have heavily impacted its gaming and cloud divisions, including Amazon Games and Twitch. Within Twitch, approximately 500 roles are expected to be eliminated as part of this downsizing effort.
