The portrayal of a woman with supposed superpowers to combat online hate was seen as absurd—almost satirical—a middle-aged mom fighting internet trolls, who simply had the superpower of comment moderation. Ironically, the trailer seemed to mock the idea of a liberal hero fighting conservative extremists, a theme that many viewers felt was both tired and politically biased.
