The controversy began when Stephen King shared a misleading and defamatory post suggesting that Charlie Kirk had advocated for violent actions against the LGBTQ+ community, specifically claiming he supported stoning gays to death. These allegations were entirely false. Charlie Kirk, known for his conservative viewpoints, never made such statements. What Kirk did do was quote a Bible verse in a discussion, reacting to someone else’s biblical reference by saying, "If you want to cherry-pick things in the Bible, what about this verse? Are you going to take that too?"
