Upon closer inspection, however, the actual transcript of McGregor's comments tells a different story. During the event, McGregor was discussing his wife, who plays Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka, and his enthusiasm for the show. His words were along the lines of, "I really enjoy watching Ahsoka, it’s brilliantly done... She’s shooting season two now." He was clearly talking about his wife’s involvement, not about his own return as Obi-Wan.
In fact, McGregor never mentioned himself returning to the series or filming any new scenes. The misinterpretation originated from a misunderstanding of his comments, which were taken out of context by fans and media, leading to widespread false speculation.
