Interestingly, the film's production almost didn't include Pedro Pascal, a ubiquitous face in recent Hollywood projects. Pascal has been featured prominently in multiple high-profile releases and streaming series, leading to what many call Pedro Pascal fatigue. His ubiquity appears to be overexposing him to audiences, to the point where it could have been detrimental to Weapons.
Initially, Pascal was cast in the film but had to be recast due to scheduling conflicts—and, perhaps notably, because of his overexposure during a particularly busy period for him in early 2024. Since the New Year, Pascal has been involved in major projects such as:
