Perhaps most troubling is how the series handles Sauron. Instead of revealing him at the appropriate time, the show seemingly introduces him prematurely and even makes him a central figure before the full emergence of the Dark Lord. The show appears to introduce Anatar, a known alias of Sauron, but does so in a way that disregards established lore, causing confusion and alienation among fans.
The Inclusion of Unnecessary Characters
In addition to questionable Sauron portrayals, characters like Tom Bombadil—a figure famously absent from the Amazon series—are being shoehorned into the story, despite having no clear reason or need for their inclusion. Such decisions are likely attempts to generate buzz but may ultimately further damage the series’ credibility.
