One of the key issues with The Acolyte was its narrative execution. The series appeared to be a haphazard cobbling together of scenes with little regard for story coherence. The supposed epic final duel between Sith Lord Kime and Jedi Master Soul was reportedly added late in production, with Headin revealing that originally, Sith characters were not intended to play a major role in the finale. Instead, the decision to include this showdown was motivated by the desire to have a "cool" fight scene, regardless of narrative necessity.
