The high costs are not accidental but stem from the chaotic production process. In the case of Doctor Strange, extensive re-shoots and last-minute edits inflated the budget dramatically. Similarly, Brave New World appears to have undergone multiple re-shoot phases, often the result of negative test screenings and studio mandates for revisions.
