Conclusion: A Cautionary Tale for the Franchise
Despite Leslie Headin's attempts at damage control and her claims that her goal was not to produce a political or "woke" series, the evidence suggests otherwise. From her initial statements about reflecting her queer identity to the promotional emphasis on LGBTQ characters, the intent seemed clear. Unfortunately, the execution fell flat, culminating in one of the franchise's worst entries.
