Initially, expectations for Blade seemed promising. Marvel claimed they were developing the film with Ali leading the charge, and fans envisioned a high-octane, R-rated vampire action flick. Yet, no sooner had they begun the process than the project encountered significant hurdles. Over time, multiple writers and directors exited the film—sometimes mere weeks before filming was set to commence—casting doubt on whether the project would ever materialize.
