Part 5/10:
A major point of contention was the handling of Batman and other iconic characters. The game’s marketing positioned it within the Arkham universe, but the actual portrayal of these heroes diverged sharply from fan expectations. This perceived disrespect and the characterization that appeared to be influenced by outside agendas alienated Batman fans and further undermined the game's credibility.
Poor Gameplay and Lack of Incentives
Beyond narrative issues, gameplay quality was heavily criticized. The game was reported to feature tedious grind elements, minimal story engagement, and little innovation. To try to salvage interest, Warner Brothers introduced daily login incentives and a DLC featuring the Joker—an iconic character—and yet, these efforts failed to rekindle player engagement.
