Pelts pointedly accused Disney of a decline in the quality and profitability of their cinematic releases. He pointed out that, in 2023, Disney released approximately 11 or 13 movies with only a handful, like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, making a break-even or marginal profit at best after factoring in hefty budgets and marketing expenses. Many of the films, he argued, have been blockbusters in name only, but real profit margins are slim or negative.
