Comparing to Other Films and Past Performances
The numbers paint a bleak picture for Aquaman 2. Not only is it underperforming compared to other recent DC entries, but it’s also falling far short of its predecessor, Aquaman, which grossed $55 million in its first three days. As of six days into release, Aquaman 2 has only grossed approximately $52.5 million domestically, and projections suggest it may not even reach $100 million by the end of the holiday period.
In comparison, The Flash, despite its own struggles, managed to gross $55 million over a similar timeframe with a relatively small three-day opening. Meanwhile, Migration, with an opening of just $12 million, is now outperforming Aquaman 2, signaling how dire the situation is for the latter.
