Aquaman 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest box office failures in recent memory for Warner Brothers. Tracking predicts an opening weekend between merely $30 million and $40 million during the four-day Christmas holiday period, including previews and Christmas Day—traditionally a lucrative time for theaters. These numbers are shockingly low, especially for a tentpole superhero film on its debut, and even more so considering the film's second weekend performances are weaker than those of Marvel's notorious bombs.
