Daisy Ridley's Rey was positioned to be a central figure in the next phase of Star Wars storytelling. The character's arc was expected to expand, with director Charmino Baeo attached to direct a film that would follow Rey as she rebuilds the Jedi Order—an idea teased at last year's Star Wars Celebration. However, with the continued lack of progress, coupled with the loss of screenwriters like Stephen Knight, it appears unlikely that this film will come to fruition anytime soon.
