One of the most glaring and widely ridiculed initiatives has been the organizing of celebrity-driven campaigns to boost Kamala Harris, who is serving as Vice President. While celebrity endorsements are common in American politics, recent efforts have appeared particularly forced and cringe-worthy. Perhaps the most notorious incident involved a virtual call featuring the Marvel Avengers stars—an assembled group of Hollywood superheroes—dropping in to endorse Harris in a scripted, rehearsed Zoom call that quickly spiraled into mockery and ridicule.
