Self-ignition of electric buses has become alarmingly common across China. Several reports highlight incidents of buses catching fire during operation, sometimes during the night at bus stations. Videos circulating online show flames emanating from buses, with some fires spreading downward, which, if directed upward, could have resulted in catastrophic explosions comparable to rockets.
