Some fleets, like those in Baoing and Hub, are being abandoned or repurposed due to these costs. The scale of the problem is immense; replacing batteries for over 591 buses in Baoing alone would amount to nearly 100 million R&B, a sum many transit agencies cannot afford, especially as government subsidies fade.
