Despite initial hopes that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny could recover in its second weekend due to a lack of major competition, the film's prospects have dimmed significantly. The movie's opening weekend was unimpressive, and the subsequent second weekend was even more disappointing. Instead of gaining momentum, the film continued to underperform, even losing ground to other movies like Insidious and Sound of Freedom, which surprisingly outperformed it at the box office on a per-theatre basis.
