One of the most troubling aspects of the Borderlands adaptation is its failure to resonate with the source material. The game’s characters—known for their distinctive personalities and backstories—are fundamentally altered or misrepresented. The actors selected for these roles, such as Kate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis, are talented performers, but their casting as characters who are supposed to be much younger raises questions about the adaptation’s focus on star power over authenticity. Blanchett, at 55, plays a character in her early twenties, which detracts from the narrative's believability and connection to fans.
