One of the most contentious topics revolves around US auto exports. President Trump repeatedly criticized Japan for the limited presence of American vehicles on Japanese roads. However, Ishiba pointed out that Japan drives on the left side, which makes American cars less practical and less likely to sell well. Furthermore, US automakers have shown little inclination to redesign vehicles to adapt to Japan’s market, rendering this demand somewhat impractical.
