What began as a pandemic-driven surge in e-commerce spending in 2020 propelled Amazon’s clothing sales to new heights, reinforcing its dominance in the apparel sector. By that year, nearly 13% of all U.S. clothing sales originated from Amazon. Its sales volume in apparel and footwear eclipsed Walmart's twice over and dwarfed competitors’ online clothing sales by more than ten times.
