These comments appeared to be supported by certain scenes in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, which seemed to hint at Valkyrie’s bisexuality—yet much of this was reportedly cut from the final versions, possibly due to censorship or regional restrictions.
Similarly, Marvel Studios has been accused of virtue signaling: promoting diversity on the surface but not fully backing these representations in their movies. The notion that certain LGBTQ+ scenes or references are cut for the sake of international markets or political sensitivities has persisted for years.
