Introduction
In recent years, the buzz around digital currencies issued by central banks has rapidly gained momentum worldwide. As of today, more than 80 countries are actively researching or developing their own Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). While still in the early development phases, CBDCs are proving to be an increasingly attractive concept, especially among developed nations. Notably, countries working on their own CBDCs represent over 90% of the global GDP, signaling a significant shift towards digital monetary systems. Although CBDCs are unlikely to completely replace cash in the near future, their implementation across various nations is imminent in the coming years.
