Yet, concerted efforts by media outlets and Hollywood insiders pushed narratives designed to undermine its message and discourage audiences from watching it. False stories circulated, such as claims about minor contributions to crowdfunding campaigns or bizarre personal scandals involving individuals promoting the film, all aimed at tarnishing its reputation.
