Part 4/9:
Warner Brothers Discovery, which owns CNN, HBO, and Warner Brothers Studio, reported worse-than-expected revenue for the second quarter. The underperformance is largely attributed to the box office failures of major superhero films and subsequent losses in streaming revenue. The state of the DC Universe, in particular, has been dismal, with a series of misfires including Black Adam, Shazam! Rage of the Gods, and The Flash. The upcoming Blue Beetle movie is also projected to be a costly venture, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s future remains uncertain in terms of profitability.
